On the face of it 'Aman-Ki-Shanti' .............sounds gr8 n human, but is it really the human spirit that's driving it? Some media houses feel they should start a 'Humanitarian" movement to do something for people from the disturbed regions in north-west of India. Is it merely because they actually believe in the Human spirit? or is it the fact that media has not had any recent big news event to report that has created this situation?
What happens to the same human spirit when everyday incidents in the valley injure/kill and devastate families of our citizens by some psycho running around with bombs and guns. No prizes for guessng where he hails from. Is it worth all the sacrifices our people make for protecting our country? Everyday our security forces spend crores of rupees just manning our borders in god-forsaken environments away from family and luxury. At least 5 of our brave soldiers put their lives at stake for us and I(ndia) spends millions on its defense. And now post 26-11-08 its almost like we are not even safe in our own home. Even our local police is threatened at the slightest tip pf from intelligence agencies.
It beats my reasoning capacity to understand why all of a sudden this call of human spirit for the people who attack my country and my people.
Now, one may justify Aman ki shanti by saying that just because of actions of a few people, not everyone from the region suffer........... but hang on, people from that region are equally responsible. If they claim they are the victims, then its hard to believe because they strongly believed and practised the same philosophy against India for the past 60 years and justified it as it was against India. And to make it worse it was credited to Indias account for the so called injustice done to them in 1947 by the British who are the so called Civilized world and keepers of democracy & human spirit.
The media was asked to keep away from the events of 26/11 because the terrorist were using their news as source for proceeding with their plans and judjing their success..... wonder Y our so called responsible media and keepers of humanity couldnt keep themselves away from those locations if they were really were working in the interst of our country. Now, they have made that XXXXXX kasab as if he is one of our own undergoing a trial for some petty crime. Do they even realize that he is mocking us and the media is happy about that fact that a terrorist has pickedup the local language, or how he mocks our system and present him as if he is some gr8 person.
Today there is absolutely no news to show? I guess finally media has realized that kids falling in borewells or bollywood breakups or reality shows are no major commercial value. So what should the media do to earn their living... Why not start something to show how kind hearted we are........ crowd the minds of millions stuck to newpapers and TV by showing advertisements and media-campaigns wrapped in human spirit and make money out of Lets call it AMAN KI ASHA..... who cares if it mocks the thousands of security forces who give more than their lives preventing an attack on our country? Who cares on the fact that we spend crores of rupees collected in taxes on defense?
Now what is the next move by these so called keepers of human spirit.... create safe colonies in our country for the same people who contributed to destroying it. Projecting it as a humanitarian crisis and crowd the minds of millions by saying that India should play a big-brothers role. If the younger brother is so damn stupid/innocent/irrational/factionist then he's like a cancer and should be handled in the same way as we treat cancer.
One may say that such a negative and short sighted approach can never lead to a peaceful future and that we are from the land of Gandhian philosophy..........Lets just say that the Gandhian philospohy has clearly not worked specially after what happend in 1947 and the aftershock India gets every now-n-then from our neighbours. this just says we need to tackle such issues differently....History is a good teacher and if we are not ready to learn then we just end up repeating it.
